Zanat is a design-led manufacturer of handmade furniture and accessories produced in collaboration with some of the most prominent international designers and architects of our time. Zanat is based on a centuries-old family business that is famous in the Balkans for producing exquisite hand-carved furniture and furnishings. The woodcarving tradition, which originated in the Bosnian town of Konjic, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Brothers Orhan and Adem Niksic decided to continue the family business in its fourth generation and enrich it with a new approach to furniture design and production: one that puts craftsmanship first and shows how traditional hand-carved techniques can inspire design, open up new possibilities and contribute to sustainable development at the same time.
