The history of the Danish rattan furniture manufacturer Sika Design begins in the 1940s when Ankjaer Andreasen founded Sika Mobler in the vicinity of Skanderborg. The collaboration with the best basket weavers and perfecting this craft gave the brand the identifying characteristics it still has today: comfort, quality, and design. In the meantime the company is managed by the third generation; the furniture is produced in Indonesia, where rattan grows naturally and basket weaving enjoys a grand tradition as a craft.
