The NORR11 Shanghai chair is a modern interpretation of the traditional Chinese Horseshoe chair. With its clear structure and fine details, it is a piece of furniture that combines Asian and Scandinavian design. The arm- and backrest form the central element of the chair. They give the design an iconic aesthetic.
The NORR11 Shanghai chair has a steam-bent frame made of solid ash wood and a seat made of either hand-woven cord or French rattan. The French rattan seat has the look of Viennese wicker. The cord seat is handmade in several hours from 150 metres of paper cord. The seat is extremely durable and stable. It emphasises the natural look of the design and makes the chair both strong and durable.
