It is an original of the Bauhaus: The table lamp Kaiser Idell wrote design history since the early 1930s. It was designed by Christian Dell, one of the foreman at the Bauhaus Weimar in the 1920s. He had the idea of a concise, robust and yet simple light for work and home. With its round shape and the eye-catching, asymmetrical shade the Kaiser Idell 6631 Luxus quickly found many followers. The curved arm of the lamp enhances the round design and leads it to the bottom. This creates the impression of a unified whole. The shield of the Kaiser Idell light is made of high quality steel and then painted in high gloss or matte. In addition to the original colors of black and dark green also lamps in matte black, ruby red and classic white are available. The arm of the lamp is chrome and complements the excellent quality of workmanship.
Flexible and individual: The filigree joints of the Kaiser Idell 6631 Luxus allow to align the light variable. Whether as a desk lamp, next to the couch or as a bedside lamp - the Kaiser Idell always acts independently and elegantly. During the processing of the table lamp, great value is placed on the quality: The Kaiser Idell has a stable metal base. The total weight is as round four kilograms. This is quality you can feel. The Kaiser Idell has developed its cult status over the years: Several guest appearances in German television series of the 19601 and 70s certainly have contributed to this status. In Der Kommissar the lamp had a permanent place on the desk of the police headquarters. Also in the Tatort she appeared several times. Of the guard in the living room: The Kaiser Idell 6631 became a must-have design lamp. Many people still refer to the Kaiser Idell 6631 Luxus as the Kommissar-Lampe (superintendend light). With its sophisticated shape it also made its way in the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
