In 1921, Bernard Albin Grass designed a series of lamps for the use in offices and in industrial environments. The Gras-lamp, as it was subesequently called, was astounding in its simple, robust and very ergonomic design: there are neither screws nor welded joints in the basic form. Early on, Le Corbusier was seduced by the modern design and user-friendliness of the lamps and became one of Bernard-Albin Grass' most enthusiastic supporters, using the lamps in his own offices.
With the 'Acrobates de Gras' suspension lamp collection, DCW is exploring new territory: completely free of the characteristic joint mechanisms, the acrobats integrate themselves effortlessly into the familiar aesthetics.
Two versions of the supsension lamps are available and can be combined to form striking geometrical compositions. The N°322 as well as the N°323 can be equipped with the shade types Round L, Round XL, Conic L and Conic XL (you can find an overview of the possible shade type and colour combinations under 'details').
Optionally, you can purchase two separate accessories ('Part AC1', a satin black canopy with a diameter of 9 cm, and 'Part AC2', a 50 cm long black cable tube) that can be used to combine a group of lamps or to readjust the positioning of the available electrical connections in your room.
