In 1921, French Engineer and Inventor Bernard-Albin Gras designed a series of lamps with the view to improve working conditions in offices, research laboratories and industrial environments. The exquisite simplicity of the Lampe Gras immediately attracted the renowned architect Le Corbusier with its pure function and freedom from superfluous adornment, leading the architect to use the lamps in his own offices and numerous projects around the world. Other early adopters of the Lampe Gras include Sonia Delaunay, Eileen Gray, Man Ray and Robert Mallet-Stevens. With astounding simplicity and robust construction, the Lampe Gras quickly became equally popular in residential properties as it was in professional environments, securing its position as a truly timeless design classic.
The DCW Lampe Gras N°201 Clip On table lamp is made of steel with a black satin lacquer or chrome body and the lamp shade is available in your choice of twelve colours: black, white, red, yellow, blue, chrome, copper, raw copper, black with copper inside, white with copper inside, copper with white inside and raw copper with white inside.
