The UTRECHT XL armchair by Cassina was designed in 1935 by Gerrit T. Rietveld for the Amsterdam department stores Metz & Co. With its avant-garde form based on geometric shapes, the design combines art and comfort. The Cassina UTRECHT XL armchair is based on a tubular steel frame with elastic webbing. The seat, backrest and armrests are upholstered and covered with a high-quality wool fabric. The colour-contrasting decorative seams in buttonhole stitch are a special eye-catcher.
The UTRECHT XL armchair is available in numerous versions, with fabric or leather upholstery, also the colour and style of the decorative stitch can be varied.
