The Capitol Complex Chair by Cassina is a tribute to the Swiss architect and furniture designer Pierre Jeanneret. The chair was created between 1958 and 1959, when Jeanneret was responsible for numerous projects in the Indian city of Chandigarh together with his cousin Le Courbusier. Le Corbusier's famous Capitol Complex government building was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2016. Pierre Jeanneret was largely responsible for the interior design and in particular for the design of the chairs. A special compositional scheme, which can also be found in other furniture of the Capitol Complex family, is the "V"-shaped support.
The Cassina Capitol Complex chair combines a frame in black-stained oak with a seat and backrest in Viennese wickerwork. A seat cushion with fabric or leather cover can be selected on request. The seat cushion is filled with down and measures 45 x 43 cm.
If you are interested in a variant other than the one shown here, please feel free to contact our service team for an individual offer. The Capitol Complex Chair is also available in teak or natural oak.
